The pretty coastal village of Ogmore by Sea is located on the HerItage Coast between Bridgend and Llantwit Major, and boasts one of the most impressive beaches in this part of Wales. On a low tide the beach stretches out for what seems like forever, reverting to several bays and the river-mouth at high tide. Ogmore's Beaches are the locals' choice for dog walking, surfing and just hanging out – plus it's right on the Glamorgan Coastal Path so is a great spot for walkers too. If you fancy a day out, try walking to Ogmore beach from the Merthyr Mawr sand dunes, passing by the Ogmore Castle and and then follow the Glamorgan Coastal Path to Ogmore by Sea.
